Hi, I’m Louis, Your NoVA Neighbor.
I was born and raised in Fairfax County and now live in Loudoun County. Northern Virginia has been home to me for nearly my entire life. I’m even a graduate of George Mason University right here in NoVA.
And yet, like many people here, I often feel like something is missing.
NoVA is full of hardworking, driven people. But because of the transient nature of the area, it can be hard to find a true sense of community. Neighbors move in and out. People are busy. Many of us don’t have a doorbell to ring when we need a quick helping hand.
I started this because I saw how many people, especially seniors and those recovering from injuries, struggle with everyday tasks that they cannot easily do on their own. There isn’t always a friend or family member nearby to help. Sometimes it is something small like opening a stubborn jar or changing a lightbulb. Sometimes it is a growing to-do list that feels overwhelming.
That is where I step in.
My background is in tech. I worked as a software engineer, where my biggest strength was problem solving. I am used to breaking down unfamiliar problems, figuring out practical solutions, and getting things done efficiently. That same mindset now shows up in people’s homes.
I have also completed major renovation projects of my own, so I am comfortable using tools and handling physically demanding work. I am strong, capable, and willing to complete the hands-on tasks that you may not be able to do yourself.
I am not a licensed specialist, and I do not claim to be an expert in any one trade. If you are looking for a master electrician, plumber, or contractor, I am not your guy.
But if you are looking for a competent, careful, trustworthy neighbor who can take care of straightforward tasks and figure things out when needed, I would love to help.
I have already had the privilege of helping many neighbors in our community, and I would be honored to help you too.
There is nothing to gain by overselling myself. If I am not the right fit for your task, I will tell you. And if you decide not to pay anything after the work is done, that is completely okay.
This is about helping people first.
Whatever your circumstances, my promise is simple. I will treat you like family, with dignity and respect. That promise doesn’t change based on what you choose to contribute.
